What I Keep

Portraits & Statements

Gene Chillous
Fast Food Chef

Eight years ago our preacher, Virgil Bell was going to east Texas and I happened to grab his prize possession, his staff – the one he opened Lake Waco with. He left everything, his home, his wife, his job, just to everyone that God is more beautiful and powerful than any possession. I’ve kept it. It lives in our house, it has its own corner and when you come in you respect the staff just like you respect my family. Who appears this year? Virgil Bell and his wife, Kay! September 2008. They got new staffs. I gave him his old one and said God wants you to have it. I have the Granddaddy. I’ll keep it forever.
